Kashi's MTB Journal
03 August 2008

Its race day and I'm sitting here with a dry throat and slight headache. Its been a tough ride recently, dealing with all my asthma issues, mechanical last week and now this. But its all part of being a bike rider.. patience! Right now the most important thing is to be okay for the Olympics.. my World Cup overall chances are over and out.

Its the first time I've ever had a proper cold during the season. I have the feeling its been building for a while and maybe its a good thing that its comes out now.. at least better now then in 3 weeks I guess !

Still, its such a shame I can't race on this course.. its of the most technical tracks we've seen and I was really motivated to get a good finish to give some confidence before the games. Maybe now, if I get over this cold quickly, I will do some stages of the tour VTT to get some speed back in the legs.

Hey Up Kashi!!
Here's wishing you every success in Beijing and getting some gold.
Legs on fire, unflattable tires, fit and well, perfect weather,a bit of luck, and having nothing but fun as you burn up the single track to victory!
Bestest in Beijing,
From an old fan and admirer in California who met you back at the camp in Sedona.

Bro -hope you get well soon. Brent from NZ

Hi Kashi,

Just been reading about all your bad luck lately. Don't worry - it'll pass and it's just your body using up all your bad karma for the year so that it will all be OK in Beijing! You're gonna rock there and we're going to be glued to the TV here in Grenoble watching out for you. Go champ! :-)

Good luck and, most of all, enjoy the occasion. It's something us mere mortals can only dream about.

Matt, Colette, and Joseph
PS. we would like to meet up with you when you get back to Annecy.
